Lily Sugathan takes us on a tour of popular breakfast cultures from four states of India -- Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Madhya Pradesh for a fun and filling hands-on class. Learn to make idli - a fluffy steamed rice and lentil cake served with peanut chutney, sambar - a lentil-vegetable stew cooked with pigeon peas and tamarind, khasta kachori - a deep-fried bread served with aloo ki sabzi - a popular potato curry dish, poha - a delicious breakfast dish with flattened rice seasoned with onions and spices and peanuts, plus jalebi - a spiral-shaped crispy sweet dessert, and elanchi - cardamom chai.
