Chocolate Cake

2 cups  flour
2 cups  sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
4 oz. unsweetened chocolate
1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup buttermilk
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 cup hot water

Melt chocolate & butter. Mix dry ingredients. Add buttermilk, eggs and vanilla to dry ingredients. Add chocolate. Add hot water. Mix thoroughly. Bake in a greased, 12-cup bundt pan at 350°F for 45 minutes. May also be baked in two 8” or 9” round or square pans.

Chocolate Ganache

1 cup heavy cream
1/2 lb. bittersweet chocolate, chopped
Warm cream to just a boil. Remove from heat and add chocolate. Stir until smooth. Drizzle on top of cooled bundt cake.
